Nordic Lake Festival - sport, music and food together
We have created the Nordic Lake Festival as an umbrella organization for a series of recurring outdoor events in Nordic Park, all taking place on the 3rd weekend of August. The Nordic Lake Festival is the framework for:
- 12 timer i Jylland - mountainbike race
- 12 timer Viborg - running
- OCR Viborg - obstacle course race
- Børn i Gear - free run for kids
- Free concerts - well-known artists
The goal is to create an outdoor event that attracts participants from near and far, and eventually also international participation. Over time, the Nordic Lake Festival should become one of Viborg's landmarks in culture and sports.
Culture and sports - meet at the Nordic Lake Festival
Geographically, we are located in Nordic Park on Vinkelvej in Viborg, with Søndersø, the Forest Botanical Garden, and Klostermarken as our closest neighbors. The fantastic location is transformed into an event space for a while.
In 2023, we kick off on Friday with Pulsåret, where more than 500 young people from Viborg Municipality's public schools are invited to a host of cool activities. This is a collaboration between 16 different associations, Viborg Sports Council, and Viborg Municipality.
The goal is to create an outdoor event that attracts participants from near and far, and eventually also international participation.
On Saturday, we welcome a collection of cool events - all focusing on culture and sports. Mountain bikers will compete for 12 hours on a 10 km route winding through some of Denmark's best MTB terrain. There's a 12-hour fitness party for running clubs, businesses, and all kinds of running enthusiasts. Men, women, and children will compete on the obstacle course, running through fire and water, climbing, and crawling! And hundreds of children will gather for free children's races, where the goal is to participate and get the heart rate up. It's all supported by four big free concerts in the event center, where the tunes from Åh Abe/Mek Pek, Moonjam, Søs Fenger, and Peter & De Andre Tribute will surely attract both participants' and the city's attention.
